I bought this mat after having given up on finding the "perfect mat." I wanted something that had decent drainage, large enough slots to hold the edges of my various bowls and plates so they wouldn't slip when drying in the sink and I wanted something that looked nice. When this "mat" arrived it really surprised me. It looked a lot better than the pictures suggested almost as if it were custom designed specifically for my stainless steel sink. The next surprise was how well it held up my dishes. All of them- big and small. Nothing slips or falls down. Drainage is excellent since it is not really a mat but more of a rack with very short feet that allows water to easily run underneath it.I had thought that the mat in the sink needed to be soft and rubbery to work well. It doesn't. Good design has alleviated the need for this rack to be rubbery or sticky. The slots are perfectly sized to prevent unintended motion and it the material is soft enough to dispel any fear of chipped or damaged glass.If you have been looking for a new sink mat just buy this one. I very much doubt that you will be disappointed. It has far exceeded my expectations and was quite reasonably priced as well. No more trapped coffee stains are being created. Very happy!I have a small, porcelain sink which needs protection from me. Now when I drop or throw something in there, I am less likely to put (another) chip in it.I like the way this product has small "feet" to bring it slightly above the bottom of the sink making it easy for liquid to pass through to the drain. My last sink protector was much harder to clean.
